What you get at RHAC

Details of all public transport in and out of Rosslare Harbour are available in reception on our Transport notice board. This shows timetables for Bus and Train and local taxis. If you need assistance with booking tickets please contact Paul or Kayleigh within a minimum of 48hrs prior to travel.

A self service laundry room is available to residents 24 hrs a day at the end of the building. You are requested to be environmentally concise in regards to the use of the washing machine and dryers in the laundry facility making sure you maximise washes and where possible use natural drying close lines. If in the event a machine is not working or you are unsure how to use the facilities please contact a member of staff. Please refrain from drying clothes in your room as this can be detrimental to your health and that of other roommates.

Every Tuesday we have a resident bed linen and towels exchange. You can bring your used linen to Kate, our accommodations manager, who will exchange these for fresh linen. Kate will be located at the resident shop up to 3.30pm and in our laundry area from then until 4pm.

This centre is a centre for independent living and our kitchen facilities are available to you to cook your own meals. Pots, pans, trays and utensils are available in the kitchen for all to use. You are required to keep your area clean at all times and to washdown and disinfect your work area after every use. Cleaning as you go is important for keeping a safe and hygienic environment. If you are not sure how to cook or need any assistance in using equipment in the kitchen please feel free to ask any staff member for assistance. Please notify management if any equipment is faulty and if there are any health and safety concerns. Residents’ refrigeration and freezers are accessible at the kitchen. All food stuff should be labelled with your name/room and date.

On a weekly basis we will carry out health and safety checks on all rooms. These checks are carried out by staff on a Wednesday and Thursday between 3pm and 4pm. This helps us to identify any maintenance issue, potential risks and gives you the opportunity to advise our staff on safety improvements required in your rooms. We would also ask you to bring any maintenance issues to our staff as soon as possible. Please do not try to fix any maintenance problems yourself. If you do buy or bring electrical equipment to your room, please make sure a staff member deems it safe for use before connecting it to the mains.

Situated on the 1st floor beside room 36 we have a zoom room setup for online courses, interviews and study and research. Please contact staff if you require use of the room. The room has 2 Ps4s, 2 Lenova Pcs and a Printer. Please refrain from printing pictures as the printer is for assignment and documents only. This room is designated an adults only room, with a separate computer for children available at reception. Please adhere to the rules, regulation and policy displayed in the room with regards, electronic communication and health and safety.

It’s inevitable that during your stay with us you will have plenty of forms that you will be required to complete. We are at your service to help you with any forms that you may find confusing or difficult to complete.

We have several computer stations around the centre for your use with high speed broadband. Each computer area has a printer. Please adhere to all policies and regulations highlighted in these areas. The centre also has laptops for residents to borrow. Please contact a member of staff to book the use of laptops. Many of the training organisations that we use will offer you the loan of a laptop during your studies.

Every year the centre in collaboration with WWETB runs English lessons for 3 levels. WWETB will assess your english levels and select a group for you to join. Some of the classes will be carried out online on a 1 to 1 basis and some in groups face to face. It is so important that you attend english classes if english is not your first language. Please contact any member of staff to help you access these classes.

The centre has a private high speed broadband connection coming into the building. You can access this broadband for free by connecting to ‘regional broadband’ in your wifi settings. No password required. If at any time you have any issues with the connection please contact a member of staff. We request that you use this broadband with respect and refrain from downloading larger files such as movies, computer games and so on. We also request that you ensure you have a strong reliable firewall and antivirus software on your devices

  • In conjunction with several local organisations and resources we have many opportunities for you if you require further education or English language training. Please contact Paul or Kayleigh so we can identify your educational needs and make a plan of action that best suits you. There are so many opportunities and variables involved and courses are changing weekly, so best talk to us when you’re ready. WWETB and WLD have regular workshops at the centre for residents. Usually these take place every 2nd week. To make a booking to meet with these local educational resources please contact a member of staff. You can also call our local liaisons for more details on course and career guidance:

As part of our personnel development and integration policy we organise outings from the centre in collaboration with WLD and Tusla to help residents experience our culture, heritage and environment. These activities take part throughout the year and are free of charge. We welcome residents’ input on the selection and organisation of these outings.

The centre main form of communication with residents is through our WhatsApp broadcast. To stay up to date it is vital that residents give Paul their mobile numbers so we can register you on the group broadcast. Messages sent out to the group will come into your WhatsApp from Paul. If you respond to this the response will only be seen by Paul.

We have many donations of all shapes and sizes from the local and national communities. Staff will organise these donations and all will be notified by the residents broadcast when they are ready to be released.

Every Thursday night around 8.30pm/9pm we receive a food donation from Tescos Wexford. This is placed on the pool table in our lounge for residents to help themselves.

At all times, children must be supervised within the centre and on the courtesy bus. It is important that a parent or parents or guardian who is designated responsible for the children is supervising the children at all times in the interest of child safety.

During cooking, playground, arts and crafts or sporting activities organised by staff, it is imperative that a parent is present with the staff member. The absence of a parent will mean the cancelling of the activity and all children returning to their rooms.
